Position:  Swim Lesson Instructor
Salary:  $17.00-$25.00/hour commensurate with experience
Hours:  10-20/week (varies)
Open until filled – recruitment is ongoing

The City of Manassas Park, Department of Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for Swim Instructors.
The Swim Instructor is responsible for the following:

-Instruct swim lessons/learn to swim lessons for varying ages (preschool – senior citizen).  
-Provide individual (private lessons) and group instruction (6 student capacity); educate participants on proper techniques and promote swimmer safety.  
-Conduct swim tests as required;   design individualized programs to meet the member's interests, abilities and goals.  
-Promote swim lesson/learn to swim programs and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive members. 
-Maintain participant files and provide lesson plans as appropriate. 
-Display strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
-Must be reliable and able to work Monday – Thursday morning and/or Monday – Thursday evening programs.


    Current CPR/AED certifications.

WSI or industry equal certification

    Must be able to swim the following strokes a minimum of 25 yards:  front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke and elementary backstroke;  swim the butterfly 15 yards considered a plus.~
    Minimum of two years experience.
    Bi-lingual considered a plus.
